Our Mission

Cana Publishing UK Ltd has a mission to bring the thought of Africa to the rest of the World. We are of age and so  extend our sphere of influence not just within Africa but from 'Jerusalem, to Samaria and to the uttermost parts of the Earth'. We have moved from being students to  teachers whose thoughts are valid additions to global thought.

David Waweru founded the company with the certain knowledge that Africa does have a valid comment to make. Certain of this David sold all that he had to finance the opening of this exciting publishing company. Twenty months on Cana has become one of Kenya's largest publishers with the first ever involvement of Books First the largest book wholesaler in East Africa.

Cana Publishing now has sixteen titles released. There are the stories of real people whose lives have been touched by Cana Publishing. Cana Publishing has experienced a remarkable reception in our domestic market place  which has encouraged us to develop and expand into the international market. Cana Publishing has been bold enough to publish into new and exciting fields to expose what God is doing in our Continent. Bold enough to push the frontiers of Christian Book publishing and marketing.

We formed Cana Publishing UK Ltd in January 2004 the company was officially launched by the High Commissioner for Kenya His Excellency Joseph Muchemi in February 2004. Cana Publishing UK Ltd made its public debut in March at the Christian Booksellers Convention. Since then Cana Publishing UK Ltd has gradually encroached into the UK and world markets. Without a doubt  we are here to stay and develop the world of African Literature.

The development of Cana Publishing UK Ltd is also helping to develop the economies of the countries from which we get our books. Primarily  that is from Kenya and a little know fact is THAT EVERY BOOK bought from us helps to keep up to forty people in work. As we develop the world markets we can see that more and more people will be employed so lessening our dependence on aid projects.

Whichever way one looks at it, we Cana Publishing UK Ltd is  grateful to God that through sowing seeds that help others grow, we too are growing to reach our potential- pushing past the edge to be an instrument of hope to Africa through the printed page. And now we are pressing on to introduce African thought to the world.
